Ok y’all… God didn’t see fit to give me any sisters with the same blood, but boy did he make up for it. I have some pretty close friends and then I have 2 sisters. These lovely ladies have been through the ringer with me. We’ve had our ups and downs in life, but I can tell you that these 2 have really stuck by my side the past 10 years. Believe me i know it wasn’t easy for them because i came back from my 2009-2010 deployment a completely different person than when I left.
Boy have the days been hard on this trip across the pond too, but guess who’s been there anytime I’ve called… Beth and Donna. They are both very different in almost every aspect of life except their hearts. They have wonderful personalities and I can’t wait to get back to them.
Beth is my “grounder” (yes I just made that up). She can talk me out of my worst anxiety attack. She’s learned after 30 plus years, how to talk me back to reality. She’s my rock and my confidant. I strive to be like her in every way except that whole running thing she LOVES.
Donna is my “we used to get into a lot of trouble but now we are grown and learning to live life” friend. We’re talking 20 plus years. She and I have this weird sixth sense and always just know when the other needs us or when we just need to hit the bar and have a few drinks. (I really want a beer, Donna).
Met them both in very different stages of life, but they came into my life and STAYED like a sister. I’m missing them extra tonight.
