First Blog

fb_img_1524090677427Hello everyone! This will be my first shot at this blogging thing. I have tried and tried to write all the emotions and stories from my life as a soldier and a mama, but I can never get it right. I’m not willing to share every aspect of my life because… well… I’m not going to put all the dirty laundry from my past relationships out for the public to read. So I thought this might be a better approach. This life is ever changing and I’m gonna share mine with you.

Back story… I have 4 children that I gave birth to and another 2 who call me mom. ALL GIRLS!! And yes, they are my world and that’s great, right? The problem with having to be my child means having to live with my life in the MSARNG(Mississippi Army National Guard), and y’all it’s not easy. My kiddos have had to suffer a lot because both parents are in the military. That in itself is hard enough now just factor in that 4 of them are teenagers. YIKES!!

Before I joined the military at 29 years old, I had all the time in the world to dote on my children and make sure they had everything they needed and most everything they wanted. I was a stay at home mom who drove them to school and was there during the summer to take them to do any and everything that could possibly cross their minds. Then, out of the blue, I decided to join the national guard. Many reasons for this decision and money was the biggest reason there is for it.

Mama left. Didn’t come home until a year and a half later, other than the week at Christmas, a week before deployment, and 2 weeks of R&R. Not only was this a big issue for them, but I also didn’t come back the same. Was I blown up? NO. Was I shot? NO. What happened to me is not something that a person shares very well, and maybe one day I will share here.

Y’all bear with me while I figure this blog thing out. I promise I will get the hang of it and hopefully get some information out and maybe y’all can help me too.
